A summer cruising destination for boaters from around the world, the New England coast is chock-full of picturesque bays, uninhabited islands and quaint fishing villages. Discover the urban vibe of Boston, Portsmouth, and Portland along with the secluded islands of Casco and Penobscot Bays. This stretch of the New England Coast has something for everyone. Get an introduction to the Canadian province of Nova Scotia. The North Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Maine are rich in sea-life with seals, dolphins and whales seemingly ready to escort you along the way. In this program, Bob will share his years of experience cruising New England waters to help you safely prepare for a cruise of your own.

  • Best of the Bahamas – our very own Panel of Krogen Cruisers - In this informal town hall format, a panel of Krogen Cruisers will share details and answer questions about their time spent cruising the Bahamas. They’ll be sharing real world knowledge and experience that goes beyond what you read in the guidebooks. Topics include best places to clear customs, favorite anchorages, ideal itineraries for entertaining guests, etc. Come prepared with your questions to help you get the most out of your next trip to the Bahamas!

  • Sustain the Dream:  Listening to Your Engines with Steve D’Antonio of Steve D’Antonio Marine Consulting, Inc. - Engines want to keep running. When they won’t start or when they stop  they are ways to tell you what you need to do. Some call that troubleshooting. I call it asking the right questions and listening to your engines and related systems. By asking the right questions and having the right listening tools, your engines will tell you what you need to know. In this workshop you will learn how to ask the right questions and listen for the right information when your engine(s) won’t start or run poorly or overheat, your batteries won’t charge or charge properly, or what tools, diagnostic equipment, and spare parts you need.

  • Ladies and Gentlemen – Know Your Engines!  Katie Norwood and Steve D'Antonio – two renowned marine professionals are offering individual 30-minute engine room familiarization sessions for Captains and Admirals and those who wish to be “in the know” on their own Kadey Krogen. Registration for this event will begin closer to the Rendezvous.  Watch for the announcement as time slots are limited.

  • How to Inspect your Engine Room with Max Parker, Vice President of Yard Operations at Zimmerman Marine – Participate in an interactive discussion on what to look for as you’re inspecting your engine room. Including 1. Before you get underway, 2. While underway, 3. Annual or pre-purchase and sea trial, 4. Annual in-depth inspections. This program is designed to be useful to both experienced boaters to help look at their engine rooms from a boat yard’s perspective and for new boaters to help familiarize themselves with the systems in their engine rooms.

  • Understanding Today’s Yacht Insurance & Marketplace/Financing Options with Dave Trostle, Vice President of Sterling Acceptance Corporation and Licensed Yacht Insurance Agent for Global Marine Insurance - Dave will be discussing the current environment of the marine insurance industry, changes in available markets, carriers’ guidelines, and trends on the horizon and why. He’ll also look at the current state of marine lending, availability of credit, lender guidelines and interest rates.

  • Kadey Krogen Yachts Update with Tucker West, President and CEO of Kadey Krogen Yachts

  • Krogen Finder App with our very own Krogen Cruiser Dave Anderer (Infinity) - Learn how to use the app and ask questions. Dave will also reveal our top 10 stalkers and other fun App statistics!

  • Round Table Discussion on Varied Topics – Topic chat time by Krogen Cruisers for Krogen Cruisers!  Please participate in our survey(s) as we customize the topics for the round tables.  Will you volunteer to lead the discussion group?  Do you have something to show off as in a new system, a useful gadget, other?  Let us know!

  • Fun and Games!  Michael-Anne Mutch (Escape Plan) is arranging the Rendezvous entertainment so plan on some fun activities for all!

  • Docktails and Dock Walks – There’s more time to socialize at the 2023 Rendezvous and this will include docktails hosted by Rendezvous attendees and more time for dock walks so you can make new friends, visit old friends, and make new memories!

  • Dinners on Docking Days – A fun time to socialize during the days leading up to the Rendezvous kick off – we call these “Docking Days”!  Bring your dinner and beverage to the clubhouse for fun company and chit chat.  A special “Chili Dump” will be held on Thursday night.  Bring your chili, dump it into a common pot, stir it all together and voila!  The outcome is some super yummy chili!

  • Mentor and Mentee Social – Mike and Maria Metts (Tuscan Sun) host an icebreaker social for first timer Rendezvous attendees and their Krogen Cruiser mentors.

  • Krogen Krawl tour and explore fellow Krogen Cruiser boats and you’ll see why “When you’ve seen one Krogen…you’ve seen one Krogen!”.  Share the unique attributes of your boat with others and enjoy good conversation.  Be sure to mark on the Rendezvous registration form that you’d like to participate!

  • Flea Market, Book, and DVD Swap – bring a treasure…take a treasure! You never know what will show up.

  • Our schedule this year allows an option for a day trip to the Annapolis Boat Show on Friday October 6th.

  • Discounted boat show tickets and group transportation will be arranged for and paid for separately from the Rendezvous tickets. Annapolis is the place for a great boat show, restaurants, shopping, and cocktails - so enjoy without the worries of getting home safely.

  • We estimate 15 passenger vans or 56 passenger bus with a one day show ticket will run somewhere between ~$54 to ~$65 per person including full insurance, fuel and parking.  It all depends on how many people sign up.

  • Mark on the Rendezvous registration sheet that you’re interested in going.  We will then get back to you with pricing (which is based on group interest).

  • Adding to the well-planned schedule, the CPR & First Aid for Boaters Course, designed especially for boaters will again be offered.  The course will be held at the Back St. Bistro at Calvert Marina on Thursday, October 5th from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm for a fee of $85.

As you know, Krogen Cruisers can suffer financial hardship due to last-minute attendee cancellations as many Rendezvous services are prepaid. To help in mitigating loss to our Krogen Cruisers funds, and in the spirit of transparency, the cancellation policy for the Rendezvous is as follows:

 need to cancel:

  • If you cancel before September 23, you will be entitled to a full refund.

  • If you cancel between September 23 and October 3 (when docking begins) you will be entitled to a 40% refund.

  • After docking begins - you will not be entitled to a refund as we cannot alter our meal counts.

Don’t forget to cancel your hotel room(s) and dock reservations if applicable.

If WE need to cancel:

  • We may find ourselves in a position to cancel the Rendezvous via “force majeure” which includes weather-related incidents, a government shutdown, a pandemic, or another disaster.

  • We also may need to cancel the event in the case where our host marina cancels related to “force majeure” or, in other rare cases, our vendors are unable to perform. In the case of “force majeure”, we will do our best to refund your fees.
