Sustain the Dream: Listening to Your Engines with Steve D’Antonio of Steve D’Antonio Marine Consulting, Inc. - Engines want to keep running. When they won’t start or when they stop they are ways to tell you what you need to do. Some call that troubleshooting. I call it asking the right questions and listening to your engines and related systems. By asking the right questions and having the right listening tools, your engines will tell you what you need to know. In this workshop you will learn how to ask the right questions and listen for the right information when your engine(s) won’t start or run poorly or overheat, your batteries won’t charge or charge properly, or what tools, diagnostic equipment, and spare parts you need.

-
Ladies and Gentlemen – Know Your Engines! Katie Norwood and Steve D'Antonio – two renowned marine professionals are offering individual 30-minute engine room familiarization sessions for Captains and Admirals and those who wish to be “in the know” on their own Kadey Krogen. Registration for this event will begin closer to the Rendezvous. Watch for the announcement as time slots are limited.

-
How to Inspect your Engine Room with Max Parker, Vice President of Yard Operations at Zimmerman Marine – Participate in an interactive discussion on what to look for as you’re inspecting your engine room. Including 1. Before you get underway, 2. While underway, 3. Annual or pre-purchase and sea trial, 4. Annual in-depth inspections. This program is designed to be useful to both experienced boaters to help look at their engine rooms from a boat yard’s perspective and for new boaters to help familiarize themselves with the systems in their engine rooms.

-
Understanding Today’s Yacht Insurance & Marketplace/Financing Options with Dave Trostle, Vice President of Sterling Acceptance Corporation and Licensed Yacht Insurance Agent for Global Marine Insurance - Dave will be discussing the current environment of the marine insurance industry, changes in available markets, carriers’ guidelines, and trends on the horizon and why. ARE YOU INTERESTED IN AN EXCURSION TO THE ANNAPOLIS BOAT SHOW?

-
Our schedule this year allows an option for a day trip to the Annapolis Boat Show on Friday October 6th.
-
Your boat will remain docked at Calvert Marina while we travel by land to Annapolis. You don’t need to try to find a slip or anchorage in Annapolis during one of their busiest times!
-
Discounted boat show tickets and group transportation will be arranged for and paid for separately from the Rendezvous tickets. Annapolis is the place for a great boat show, restaurants, shopping, and cocktails - so enjoy without the worries of getting home safely.
-
We estimate 15 passenger vans or 56 passenger bus with a one day show ticket will run somewhere between ~$54 to ~$65 per person including full insurance, fuel and parking. It all depends on how many people sign up.
-
Mark on the Rendezvous registration sheet that you’re interested in going. We will then get back to you with pricing (which is based on group interest).

YOU MAY ALSO WANT TO UPDATE YOUR CPR/FIRST AID CREDENTIALS
-
Adding to the well-planned schedule, the CPR & First Aid for Boaters Course, designed especially for boaters will again be offered. The course will be held at the Back St. Bistro at Calvert Marina on Thursday, October 5th from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm for a fee of $85.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
As you know, Krogen Cruisers can suffer financial hardship due to last-minute attendee cancellations as many Rendezvous services are prepaid. To help in mitigating loss to our Krogen Cruisers funds, and in the spirit of transparency, the cancellation policy for the Rendezvous is as follows:
If YOU need to cancel:
-
If you cancel before September 23, you will be entitled to a full refund.
-
If you cancel between September 23 and October 3 (when docking begins) you will be entitled to a 40% refund.
-
After docking begins - you will not be entitled to a refund as we cannot alter our meal counts.
Don’t forget to cancel your hotel room(s) and dock reservations if applicable.
If WE need to cancel:
-
We may find ourselves in a position to cancel the Rendezvous via “force majeure” which includes weather-related incidents, a government shutdown, a pandemic, or another disaster.
-
We also may need to cancel the event in the case where our host marina cancels related to “force majeure” or, in other rare cases, our vendors are unable to perform. In the case of “force majeure”, we will do our best to refund your fees.
